Never Yet Changed is a multimedia installation. Cultural assimilation often functions as a quiet submission to systemic oppression, shaping immigrants into versions of themselves that feel increasingly distant. The pressure to embody acceptability gradually obscures the violence of erasure, making the loss of identity appear necessary, even natural. When survival requires becoming someone else, assimilation becomes both a mask and a wound.
