Metal, Wood, Rice
A sculptural depiction of an immigrant mother, drawing parallels to a novel interpretation of the spirituality of wisteria flowers. A contradiction to the stereotype of fragility, and a depiction of resilience and fortitude. Rice, a foundational representation of the soil on which immigrants grow, and an appreciation for the generational, often forgotten sacrifice of motherhood.
