Wood, Plaster, Wax, Incense
A solidified memory of leaves from my grandfather’s garden plants that I never saw bloom.
A burnt wooden sculpture. The strong odour of charred wood and incense smoke recreate the uncomfortable childhood memory of giving monthly prayers to 208 Bodhisattva temples. A simple plating of half-eaten fruit spurs flashbacks to my parents’ conventional apology. Despite these memories being far from pleasant, they are still cherished because they will never happen again.
